Standard specification
ASTM B361-08 covers factory-made wrought aluminum and aluminum-alloy welding fittings, as distinct from field-made fittings. Materials can be rod, bar, forgings, sheet, plate, seamless pipe or seamless tube in the specified alloy and temper.
Forming and testing
The referenced overview describes hammering, pressing, piercing, rolling, extruding, upsetting, bending and fusion welding among the shaping operations. Tension and hydrostatic testing are made to the applicable requirements.
