6061 T6

6061 T6 is stocked for aluminum pipe fitting work. The existing technical material lists minimum ultimate tensile strength of 42,000 psi and yield strength of 35,000 psi, with typical values of 45,000 psi and 40,000 psi respectively. When a drawing or material list calls for 6061 T6, include that requirement with the fitting type, nominal pipe size, schedule or wall and quantity so the request can be reviewed as one complete specification.

5086 H32

5086 H32 is stocked for aluminum fittings and is also specified for KC combination nipples and hose-barb connections. State the required alloy at the start of the request, along with the fitting geometry and connection details, so the material requirement stays tied to the component being quoted.

Specify the complete fitting requirement

Alloy is one part of the finished fitting requirement. A practical request also identifies the fitting type, nominal pipe size, schedule or wall, end preparation, quantity, delivery location and needed-by date. Include the drawing when dimensions, transitions or connections differ from the standard fitting range.

Review the related fitting details

Use the fitting range and dimension charts to identify the likely configuration before requesting a quote. For elbows, tees and reducers, the geometry and both connecting pipe sizes can be just as important as the material designation.
